Does god Exist?

For anyone who has never studied Philosophy this seems like a hell of a question. A question that Philosophers have been asking for years. Does god exist? How can we prove the existence of a god? Is god that of which is described in scripture or is he not even a being but just a force? The scriptural god is described as omniscient, omnibenevolent and omnipotent. If scripture is correct then there are a lot of questions that we must ask. Why is there evil? Why are people allowed to commit crime and murder and why are governments allowed to use murder as punishment? The catholic church does not give a valid answer to the questions posed. This post is just an overview. This is based on Descartes proof of the existence of god and the criticism of the proof...

A must read!

We have all heard of Mark Twain, but not all of us have heard of Mark Twain's post-humous publication of "Letters from the Earth". This is some of Twain's most interesting and controversial work. He writes mainly on the topic of religion and how humans don't have a clue about religion and god. Twain writes from the view point of Satan writing a letter home from Earth. Satan views the entire human race as a vain and confused society who view themselves as the most superior creature. Satan goes on to say that humans are less superior than anacondas. For anyone that specializes in theism or for anyone who would like a differnt point of view on religion and the world, from a very reputable writer "Letters from the Earth" is an amazing read.

Artificial Intelligence

Icogno.com is home to several chatting bots. Joan is the most advanced bot. Joannie is in intellegent program that uses videogrammetry. An actress is shown as a talking avatar for Joan. Joan, the winner of 2006 Loebner Prize is accredited with being human like. You may have a conversation with Joan and she responds to you. Joan has passed the Turing test as well. This test was invented to show if computers can trick humans into thinking that they are human. Joan is a lot of fun and is an interesting program. Don't kill too much of your time!!

H2O

What if water lost it's chemical properties? What if for some reason, the universe wanted to change it? What if water lost it's covalent hydrogen bonds? What if water lost it's polarity? Think about it! All surface tension would cease to exist. Insects that scale the surface of lakes and ponds. Birds that sit so majestically on top of the water. These types of occurrences would transform into mayhem. If water molecules lost their bonds, boats would no longer float and surfers would fall through the water and drown. Swimming would not be a possibility. Hydrogen and oxygen would no longer bond and the world would be in shambles. Clouds would not exist. What would we drink? Snow...gone! Water The Universal Solvent!! Nope, no more. The world of chemistry would change forever. Since humans are made mostly of water, would we exist?

Update & Mr. Roboto

I am brainstorming and coming up with some creative stuff to write. I promise to continue Spring Afternoon as well.

For now, I will leave a question: Can computers, one day Think? If we replace our neurons in our brains, one by one, with computer chips would we still be us once our brains became 100% computer? These are some questions that philosophers are studying now! What are your thoughts?
